Introduction to the Bible - Lesson 1

Anyone who desires to study the bible with the end goal of learning what God's will is for them, desires a noble thing. For without the truth that God has so richly blessed us with, we as frail humans cannot hope to succeed in this life. By succeeding in life I do not mean in material goals, possession, or other trivial matters, but succeeding in our goal of securing for ourselves the blessings of eternal life.

Before anyone embarks on a journey, they first consult maps to guide them on their journey. In a study of the bible it is necessary to understand how the bible is constructed and what it means to people today. This first lesson is meant to provide us with a pictorial road map of the bible, using the bible as our guide.

The first lesson, Introduction to the Bible, covers the following topics:

  1. The Origin of the Bible
  2. The Bible's Purpose
  3. The Completeness and Indestructibility of the Bible
  4. What the Bible contains and the Three Questions the Bible Answers
  5. What the bible warns about
  6. Summary (You should read the lessons before the summary!!!)
