One of the main ways Jesus and the Apostles taught people was through the use of examples. Jesus makes frequent uses of parables such as the Parable of the Sower (Matthew 13:1-8, 18-23, Mark 4:3-8, 14-20, Luke 8:5-8, 11-15), Parable of the Wise and Foolish Builders (Matthew. 7:24-27; Luke 6:47, 49), and so on. In each one of these stories, Jesus would start with an example that everyone in the crowd around him could easily understand. He would proceed to teach deep truths that about life and the way God's people should live.
The book of Acts is written by Luke, inspired by God, and details the beginning of Christ's Church starting with Jesus' accension into Heaven. It details the missionary journeys of the different Apostles and the conversion of Paul on the Road to Damascus. It is also the only book in the bible which gives detailed example accounts of how people were added to Christ's Church in the first century.
Lets look at how people were added to the early church.
