Original Sin and The Immaculate Conception
Unfortunately, the concept of "original sin" is man's extra interpretation that has been added to the accounts in the bible. As a conclusion, you can read that Mary was a virgin, betrothed to Joseph, who by the power of the Holy Spirit, conceived and gave birth to Jesus so that God's promise of a savior could be fulfilled. Although she was blessed with this honor, there is no reference in the bible that she had any special blessings from birth. There are other references to miraculous conceptions in the bible: Sara, Abraham's aging wife, and Elizabeth, Mary's cousin. Although these are miraculous events that occurred in order to fulfill the prophecies and promises of the Old Testament, the women themselves did not enjoy special dispensations from birth. They did, however, enjoy the results of a miracle from God.
I hope that this answers your question about the Virgin Mary. She was indeed a very blessed woman. Can you imagine what a wonderful life it would be to raise a son that would become the savior of the world? What a joy! Thank you and bless you for your search of the truth.
