The church in Quartz Hill is very committed to the Great
Commission of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28: 18-20). We strive to reach out and preach the
gospel to as many as we can. We do this on a local, national and global level.
We reach out to our community in a variety of ways
Benevolence
- We have a food pantry stocked for those who have need of
groceries.
- Once a year we have a Neighborhood Give-away.
Clothing, household and sometimes food, is collected and given away to anyone who has
need.
Evangelism
- Gospel Meetings. Each year we host a gospel
meeting in order to reach as many as we can with the gospel.
- Friends Day. In conjunction with our
Neighborhood Give-Away, we host our annual Friends Day. On this Sunday, everyone
makes a special attempt to invite their friends to church. Services are planned with our
visitors in mind. Sermons are on first principals and what it means to have Jesus as our
friend.
- Ladies Day. The ladies of the congregation host
a Saturday program for Christian women. Guest speakers are invited speak, on various
subjects. A continental breakfast and lunch is provided.
- Gospel Sweep. The Gospel Sweep is a very unique
evangelistic program that was born here in the Antelope Valley. All six congregations in
the valley participate in a round-robin type of gospel meeting. Each congregation hosts
one evening at its own facility, with the full support and attendance of the others, to
preach one of the lessons in a series of six. At the conclusion of the meeting, we have a
joint potluck and fellowship at a predetermined location. Much fruit has resulted from
this program.
- Deaf Ministry. We also have interpreting for the deaf
for our worship services, including
the adult Bible classes.

On a national level we support several evangelistic programs.
- In Search of the Lords Way. This television
ministry is broadcast from Edmond, Oklahoma. Mack Lyons is the preacher. In California, it
is shown on channel 22 at 7:30 am each Sunday morning.
- Birmingham Bible school for the Deaf. This is the only
school of preaching in the brotherhood that is specifically designed to teach deaf men to
preach the gospel. Some schools have staff who can teach any hearing impaired students,
but they are not designed to train deaf men to preach.
- Scholarships. This year (1997), we have established a
scholarship fund to help support men who want to go to preaching school. Our first student
is attending the Brown Trail School of Preaching in Austin, Texas. After graduation in two
years, we will select another student to help support.

On a worldwide level, we presently help support three
mission areas:
- Mexico. We help support Juan Mesa, who is the preacher
in Torreon, Mexico. We have been supporting the work for several years.
- India. We support Bro. Ron Clayton and his wife Karen
as they work in this very fertile mission field.
- Galilee Christian High School. This is a very unique
school, in that both Arabs and Jews attend and are taught the New Testament. There is a
waiting list for students to get into the school, due to its excellent academic standards.
